I constantly have Jess's melodies stuck in my head, and, for the record, I like having them there.” - Wes Speight (Seattle Musician and Songwriter)

Jess Pillay

Seattle-based singer/songwriter

Jess Pillay (she/her) is a multi-faceted musician and creative from Seattle, Washington. Her pop fusion sound incorporates elements of folk, blues, rock, funk, and jazz to create an eclectic, genre-crossing listening experience for audiences of all kinds. Inspired by artists like Rachael Yamagata, Norah Jones, Tracy Chapman, and Lake Street Dive, Jess often gravitates toward introspective ballads that are melancholic yet defiantly hopeful. Her lyrics deal with hard themes like faith and doubt, grief and loss, systemic injustice, and the messy, ever-changing nature of relationships—all sonically anchored by Jess’s sultry alto voice.
